- Here we have the simplest possible After Effects comp. It is just a comp with one layer that is a black solid. And I set this comp up just to show you the advantages of using a tablet, which we're now going to introduce to complete this particular series. Now, if you already use a tablet, you probably know the advantages of doing so. There is one big key advantage working with paint in After Effects with a tablet. And there's one overall disadvantage that I also want to point out to you, which is actually the reason that I personally don't use a tablet as much as some artists that I know. Now I have gone back and forth. The big disadvantage is precision. And you remember in the last lesson, we were setting up a clone source. So here, just bear with me as I hold down the option key, I'm gonna position this eyedropper right over the cross-hair. Now, it's meaningless in this case, cause this is just an empty solid.
