- Let's take a look at Adobe After Effects. It's an industry standard tool for motion graphics and if you have a familiarity with video editing, you should find a lot of similarities with the timeline and keyframes. Let's explore. Now when you launch After Effects, it's going to have a lot of empty spaces ready for you to import content and work. After Effects is much like a video-editing tool, where if you don't bring in assets, there's not a lot you can do. Let's start by choosing File > Import, and I'll choose to bring in a single file. If you have multiple files, you can bring those in as well, but I'll choose a single file to start. Let's navigate out to the exercise files folder, and I'll go to folder three, and we'll start with 3.1. Let's go ahead and import the Illustrator file. Now just single-click so it's active, and from below, choose how you want to import. You'll have a few choices.
