- [Instructor] In our previous example, we had a look at how we could use anticipation to set an expectation of what's about to happen before it happens. We also spoke about having to leave the text on screen for a long time before the action happens, and that can lead to people getting bored of just looking at a static word for all of that time. It's only four seconds, but that four seconds can seem like a long time. So what we're gonna do is have a look at motivation. So we're gonna open up motivation.comp, and that's in 02_05Motivation if you want to follow along and you have access to the exercise files, you can open that. Motivation is another principle of animation, and it's somewhat linked to staging and anticipation. It occurs when one action clearly shows that another action is about to take place, so we're gonna imagine that this text is a car. So we're gonna exaggerate the movement by adding something to it at this stage, and if we play it, you'll see what's happened is…
