Join Mark Christiansen for an in-depth discussion in this video Freeze on the last frame, part of After Effects CC 2017: New Features.
- Here's another feature you'll find…in just about every non-linear editing tool out there,…which is now in AfterEffects,…the new freeze on last frame command…in the layer time menu right there.…Hold to the last frame of the layer…until the end of the composition.…So here we have a clip that ends…before the end of my comp.…The way I like to set this new feature…is actually to right click,…find the time, sub-menu, and go to freeze on last frame.…
And so you'll see that all that's happened…is timer mapping has been applied…with the hold key frame at the end.…So if I play forward from there,…we're just holding until the end of the comp.…Now as you know, once we've set the hold key frame,…the duration of that layer it totally flexible.…And there's just one thing I want to point out to you.…If you already have time remapping set on a layer.…Like let's say I make a few edits in here,…they're not going to make any sense,…but just for the purposes of showing you,…this time I'll go into the layer menu…and set freeze on last frame.…
The November 2016 release is just the first of many for After Effects CC 2017. Mark will update the course as soon as new features are released. Check back often for new tutorials.
