- The Lumetri effect is quite useful to adjust the overall tone of your shot. Let's really explore the basic and tone controls in depth, so you can see how you can precisely adjust an image. If you take a look here, you'll see two different shots. We'll start with the one that's too bright. You'll see a starting state and the end state for reference. Now, it's difficult when you're working with a shot that's very overexposed to completely recover data. You'll see that there is some clipping and loss of detail here, up at the top. Let's remove the vector scope here, and just pay attention to the parade. What we want to do though is pull this down. So, I'll type in Lumetri, and drop that onto the shot. Now with the basic control, we're going to try to refine things a bit, and back off the overall exposure. Taking that down one stop helped a lot.
