Fading multiple layers

- This week's hidden gem is how to fade out a large number of layers quickly and easily. I'm going to show you a gotcha if you do it the conventional way, some nice tricks using adjustment layers, and a couple of effects you may not be that familiar with. This is how we want our fade out to look. We want all the layers to fade out evenly, and we don't want any layers from the background being revealed through layers in the foreground. However, that's not necessarily what happens if you take the most obvious approach to doing this. Now, the problem with trying to fade out all these layers is one, you just simply have a lot of work to do. I'm going to go ahead and select as many of these guys as I can, type T to reveal their opacity. Let's go ahead and enable opacity keyframes for all of them. Then go down to the end, and hit 0 to fade them all out. That looks like that should have done the job, however there's a problem, and I'm going to press F2 to deselect them. As layers start to…
