Learn how to export 3D tree models from SpeedTree.
- [Narrator] So we have this Cherry Laurel Tree opened up…in SpeedTree Cinema.…Looking pretty good.…You know we're not going to really do any work on it in here.…We're mainly going to export it in a way…we can get it into Maya.…So what we're going to do,…is we're going to go over to the properties tab here…and hit export.…You can see in our exercise file,…Chapter 3 SpeedTree Folder,…I've made a Cherry Laurel 01 Folder.…We're going to call it that.…Save it as a .fbx.…Okay, and so here we have our Export Mesh dialog box.…All kinds of different options.…
We're really going to leave most of it at default.…We don't really need to change much.…The main thing I want to change over here is by default,…this will say, "Original Max Size",…and the source textures in…these contemporary Speed Tree Models are quite big,…and so, it can be a lot of textured data involved,…which is great because there's a lot of detail.…But sometimes you don't need all that detail for your shot…and in our shot,…we're kind of looking a little bit further away.…
