Environment channel

- [Voiceover] Shiny materials like glass or metal reflect the environment around them. You can add to the realism of your materials by adding an environment. This will reflect onto the surface of your materials. Now to add an environment, we need to switch on the environment channel. We do that by clicking on this little check box here. If you haven't got the material editor open already, you can open it just by double clicking the materials swatch down here in the material manager. That will open up this dialogue box where you can switch on the environment channel. Now the environment channel allows you to create textures. You can load images or create new textures using any of these effects or features down here in this menu. We're actually going to load an image. We're going to go into the Footage folder, and in there we can select either a movie or an image to reflect onto our surface material.
