Enhancing the image with digital lighting
- The use of 3D lights opens up some interesting possibilities to create shadows on both your subject and potentially the background. Let me show you how they work. To start let's use a shot here that doesn't have any 3D layers. I can still add lights to a scene, but first off we'll set the Ambient Light and I'll set it to a light blue for the sky and set the Intensity to about 70%. Now you'll notice when you do that nothing appears to happen. That's because you need to make the layer 3D for it to have an effect. So there it did start to change things. If I double-click on the Light I could adjust the Intensity of that Ambient Light. Now remember, what you want to do here is use the Ambient Light to actually darken the subject down a little bit. I'll call this Ambience. Now I'll add another Light. And this can either be a Spot Light or a Point Light. Now let's take this to be more the color of the sun, a little gentle gold. And when I click OK it adds the Spot Light. Let's view this…
