- I showed it to you earlier. It's one of my favorite effects, but a little bit difficult to understand. So let's revisit the Colorama effect. What I like about this is that we can take a strong base color, and then use the gradient map to introduce a color cast. We've often removed color casts from our footage, but sometimes you want to put it back in. Knowing how to use the Colorama effect allows you to create a very interesting look. The Colorama effect is pretty dramatic. We'll add a new adjustment layer, and then over in Effects & Presets, type in Colorama. It probably has the worst preset that you'll ever find in any After Effects tool. That's because this gradient map has been set to an output cycle that's a rainbow. And it's pretty rare that you want to give your footage rainbow colors. But let's try something a little simpler, Ramp Blue.
