- [Voiceover] This After Effects Hidden Gem is dedicated to an old favorite of ours, "Edit This, Look At That" Sometimes called ETLAT for short. It's actually been improved by an addition to After Effects CC 2015 called uninterrupted previews. I'll show you the old way of working with ETLAT, and the new way. ETLAT comes in handy when you have a hierarchy of compositions and you want to edit something in a pre-comp and see its result in the final. For example, if I want to change the size of this wheel to see how that would work, I have to keep going back to the final, see what that looks like, go back to the pre-comp, change the size again, go back to the final. It's quite fiddling. With ETLAT, what you do, is you say hey, I always want to be looking at this viewer, so lock it, so I keep that view. Then you can do down to the timeline panel tab for the comp you actually want to edit, bring that timeline forward, but not change what you're seeing in the comp viewer. Now with the old…
