Distressed logos

- Another option that's grown quite popular through the years is distressing typography. By using texture layers, we can actually create distressed texture logos. Ones that look like they've been worn or printed on a surface. And it's really a simple technique and it's one that is quite popular. To make this work, you're going to need to have an organic texture. So if you look closely at this, this is simply a black and white photography. Right here is a stingray and this was taken with an underwater disposable camera. I just pushed the levels so that we had lots of smooth reflections. I like to use organic textures. Here, this is just the shot of a wood panel in a cabin I was staying at. Routinely I will pull out my phone or the camera I have with me and capture organic textures. Building up your own library of things around you works great. If you want to give your graphics a look that feels a bit more natural, simply work in some of the textures from your everyday life.
