Displaying values as numbers - After Effects Tutorial

Displaying values as numbers
If you're working in Motion Graphics, there's bound to be a few times where you're asked to display data, like graph data for example. Here I have an example of a graph and I've animated a few of the elements. Now at the moments, I'm just using the wiggle expression to animate them, just to get some random animation. So there I have wiggled rotation once every second by a maximum value of 360. And then scale, I've wiggled on the y dimension for both column 1 and column 2, so that we get this kind of random movement. Now it's really fantastic. If I want to convert, say, the rotation value of the dial, and display what its rotation value is, then all I need to do is write an expression to do that. So, Alt+click on the stopwatch. Literally Pick Quip from the source text value to the rotation value. And you'll see it's counting rotation and it displays that value for you, but look at the number of decimal points on there. We don't really want those, so what we're going to do is round…
