Learn about how captions and lower thirds add context to a shot. In this video, Andy demonstrates how to design and animate a lower third.
- [Instructor] Our goal is to create a lower third … that animates in an interesting way, … but remains within the brand guidelines … and is flexible enough so that we can make quick changes. … Here's what we're trying to achieve. … So it's something relatively straightforward … with some elements that animate in … and a very simple text animation. … Let's jump over to our working composition. … These are the elements that we're going to be using … to create this lower third. … The accent layer, caption, and a background. … Now, what we want to do is align … the accent with the background. … So I'm going to select both of those layers … and look at the align tools. … And if we align them both to the left … and then to a vertical align. … Now we have them in the right place. … Let's bring the caption in. … And you can see because we have snapping turned on, … it's going to align to the middle of this. … Now I'd like to be able to move everything as one unit. … And to do that, I can use null object. …
