Depth using duplicates

Depth using duplicates

- [Instructor] Welcome to AE weekly. My name is Aaron Stern and today I want to show you how to create a sense of depth by duplicating a flat 3D layer To this end I've already started to cook something here. So we have this city footage courtesy of Adobe Stock and I've already tracked it edit a 3D text, which I've named Trade City and then I've also added a point light as well as an adjustment layer with the Lens Flare effect. So it looks fine, but kind of boring without any drama. What I would like to do is to create some sort of a skyscraper from the text itself. In other words, I wish to create a 3D building from it by duplicating the title on its Z axis. So each copy will serve as a floor in this typographic building. Turns out it's not so difficult thanks to pre composing collapse transformations and a simple expression. And if all of that sounds like some sort of a gibberish, let me show you how to achieve that one step…
