I'm going to move on to my next composition, Cutting video starter, where …my client has already provided me with several clips to use for this show open. …As you can probably imagine from the basic tone of this music, including the …police radio, this is basically a crime sort of show. …So let's see what sort of clips they've provided me with. …Okay. We have a nice background there of, what …looks to be out of focus lights, maybe traffic. …We have what looks like a shady, business executive or person in power.…
We have, have a generic digital background. …I don't know how that fits in quite yet, but we'll figure that out. …Someone in jail, that makes since for a crime show. …Someone in a cemetery. Okay. …Someone must have gotten killed. Ooh, a mysterious woman against the city …lights, Okay, this is starting to come together. …And then, one shot of the moon and the city. …And another shot of lights in the city. In this course, Chris Meyer teaches you how to "read" an audio waveform to spot the most interesting points to animate to, and then presents a variety of ideas for cutting video and animating movements to match your soundtrack. This includes timing transitions, making staccato cuts, matching the frame rate to the tempo, wiggling in time, expressing animations to sound, motion sketching to music, and more. Although these tricks will be demonstrated inside Adobe After Effects, the techniques themselves are applicable to virtually any editing or animation package.
This course was created and produced by Chris and Trish Meyer. We are honored to host this content in our library.
