- [Voiceover] Once we finish the modeling and animation, it's time to add material to our objects. And then lighting really brings the scene to life, which we'll have a look at later. I'm in chapter 08_01 aep, and here we have our text and robot characters placed into a scene. At the moment, they look very flat and gray. Let's edit the file in Cinema 4D Lite by selecting Chapter 08_01.c4d in the project panel, and hitting cmd + e on mac, ctrl + e on Windows to open up the project in Cinema 4D Lite. And here we see exactly the same scene in Cinema 4D. Now the best way to understand materials is to begin by creating one from scratch. Here at the bottom of the viewport you can see the Material Manager. If I click on the Create menu, I can go to New Material to add a new material. And this is the default material. It's a fairly flat, white material. Now to apply a material, I can drag it from the Material Manager, and I can drag it onto objects here in the viewport, but it's quite tricky…
