Join Ian Robinson for an in-depth discussion in this video Creating visual hierarchy for faster understanding, part of After Effects Guru: Animating Typography.
…Visual hierarchy is one of those things that I can't…stress enough when I'm talking with new editors or new designers.…Creating a strong visual hierarchy allows people to…actually process information down into bite sized chunks,…so that they can logically make their way…through whatever information you're setting with your type.…So let's go ahead and jump into our project, so I can show you what I mean.…In the project panel, make sure you are in the visual hierarchy composition.…In here, notice how all the type is basically…the same size, including this top Surf Stats title.…
I want to change this up, so it's a little bit more visually appealing.…But of course I want to lead people through this element.…So the first thing I'm going to do is…actually increase the size of this Surf Stats type.…So let's go ahead and select layer two here.…And go over to the Character panel.…If you don't have the Character panel, make sure you're in the Text workspace.…Okay, I'm just going to click and drag on the size of my type here.…
