- Fractal noise may not look like much at first glance but the amounts of abstract backgrounds you can create with this one effect is incredible. In this movie, we'll explore creating a few backgrounds with fractal noise along with mixing it with a few other plug-ins. We'll also look at some pre-created fractal noise presets to have a strong understanding for the possibilities of this one effect. So I'm here in my Chapter 1-5 composition from my Chapter One folder and we're going to started by exploring a little bit about fractal noise to create some dynamic backgrounds. So the easiest way to apply fractal noise to something is inside the composition, let's press Command Y to bring up the Solid Settings. We're creating a new solid that's Control Y on a PC. I want to name this Solid Fractal Noise. Notice it's the 1920 by 1080 which the settings of my composition. If it wasn't I could click the Make A Comp size button and the color is set to black.
