Creating a flat-look globe animation
- [Voiceover] I'm guessing that at some point, you'll need to create a spinning globe like the one that you are seeing over here. If this is the case, let me show you how easy it is. There is a special effect just for that inside After Effects and it's called CC Sphere. This effect can work any texture around the sphere and it will also let you define a look and feel for it, so we can make a shaded sphere or a flat one like we are seeing in this example. Although it is a very straightforward effect, there are few gotchas that you need to be aware of. Here, let me show you what I mean. First step is that you'll need a world map texture. Now the Internet is filled with those maps, so you can search and download a high-res copy from the NASA website, or even a vector map, which you can change inside Illustrator.
