Creating an emitter

- [Instructor] When you first create a particle system, you want to actually create what's called an emitter, and the emitter is what actually emits or throws the particles into the scene. So, in this project, I want to create an emitter right here at the top of my smokestack. So, to do that, I'm going to make sure my Timeline panel is active. Then I'll go up under the Layer menu and choose New, Solid. I'll make sure the solid is the Comp Size. It doesn't matter what color it is, and I'll click OK. Then I can go up under the Effect menu, go down to RG Trapcode, and choose Particular. Once Particular is loaded, notice, since my current time indicator is about halfway down the timeline, you can see I've already got particles into the scene. Now, I could press the spacebar and preview the animation of this, but I don't necessarily need to see how this is moving.
