Creating custom render settings templates
- While you've heard me sing the praises of the best settings template, and it is a pretty good default, you've also heard me criticize a couple of things about it already. Let me show you how you can modify one of these built in templates and change them from the factory defaults. What you need to do is really quite simple. In the dialogue box here, you can click on the Setting itself to open it up. And it will load that into the Render Settings dialogue. This now shows you drop down menus for all of the different properties or exposes modifiable text fields. And this allows you to make changes. Now let's take a look here at what's happening. First up, I'm going to make sure that the Disk Cache is being used. So setting that to Read Only will potentially speed things up. We'll talk about the disk cache later but it means that if I've already previewed things, go ahead and actually read those in. Now taking a look here at some of the other options for proxies, I'm going to leave that…
