- [Instructor] In this movie, we'll create a unique animation based on time, and grayscale values using the Time Displacement effect. The Time Displacement effect work like the Displacement Map effect which means that it uses a displacement map, but it bases the movement of pixels in the layer on the luminous values in this map. Pixels in the layer that correspond to bright areas in the Displacement Map are replaced by pixels in the same position, but at the specified numbers of second forward or backwards in time. I know this sounds complicated, but it's really a simple concept. So instead of talking about it, let me show you how this works. So the first thing that we need to start with is to create a displacement source that we'll be used for this effect. I just want to remind you where we left off in the previous movie.
