Copying paths from Illustrator

- There's a very useful technique which you can use if you want to copy a path from Illustrator to After Effects to use as masks or position target animations. Since paths actually consist of 2D coordinates, meaning x and y, you can very easily translate the data in order to drive any effect that has a position target, especially those who lives under the Generate category. In this movie, I want to show you how to use this technique using two effects, the Write-on effect and the Glue Gun effect First inside After Effects, I'm going to start with the creation of a new composition. This is going to be a 720p composition with a duration of, let's say, six seconds. I'm going to name this guy Dollar Sign. Let's click OK and let's switch to Illustrator. Here inside Illustrator I have a dollar sign or a coin of a dollar, very rare. Let's say that we want to copy the path that we have over here.
