Join Richard Harrington for an in-depth discussion in this video Continuing to animate layers in After Effects, part of Motion Graphics for Video Editors: Creating Animated Logos.
…Okay, we've animated one line of the logo.…Let's take look at a couple of other techniques to finish it out.…Let's save our project to capture our work so far with File, Save As.…We'll call this Stage 2, to capture our work to date.…So far, I've animated the first line of text and,…what I'd like to do is reveal the next line.…I'm going to employ a similar technique, except, I want to…go ahead and apply a bit of a blur.…Now in this case I'm being a bit tongue in cheek.…
I've applied vector scaling to the raster part of the logo…so I'm going to apply a raster effect to the vector word.…And to do this I'll use blur and sharpen, and I'm going to do a directional blur.…This allows me to set the direction, such as 90…degrees, and then crank up the amount of the blur.…Let's zoom in here so I can see that a bit better.…And what I'm trying to create, is a bit of a transition.…So we'll take that pretty high, a value of 120.…Even more, 200.…
And you see it dissipates.…Let's add a key frame.…And same thing, we'll go forward plus 15 frames, and switch that back to 0.…
