- [Angie] Once you've figured out who your main target audience are, you then need to think about the demographics they fit into. Demographics are similar to categories. So to work this out, think about how you would categorize your target audience. Now here are some of the criteria that can be used to determine which demographics apply to your chosen group. Let's see how these apply to the three given briefs. Let's take the viral ad for the training company to start with. In terms of occupation, we want to appeal to people in the creative professional industry. And in terms of age group, we want to appeal to all ages from about the age of 16 to retirement age, and possibly even beyond if we're going to include hobbyists. For the TV documentary title sequence, if the subject is fashion in the 1960s, should it relate to a specific social group? For example, beatniks, hippies, or mods?
