Cleaning the media cache database and drives periodically

- [Instructor] If you notice that you're having a hard time with your files and things just don't behave correctly, you might need to clean up the cache or the database and force After Effects to reanalyze those files. This can be done by going under the Edit menu and choosing Preferences, Media & Disk Cache. Earlier, we talked about the benefits of emptying the disk cache here for any stored frames. And that's going to purge that out. When you click OK, it removes those. Additionally, however, you might need to be mindful of the Conformed Media Cache as well. These can also add up. Rather than manually navigating and finding these folders, you'll notice that you have the ability to clean the database and the cache. Clicking this is going to clear that data out and it's going to free up some disk space in doing so.
