- [EJ] Welcome to Motion Graphics Weekly…where you up your Mo Graph knowledge one week at a time.…I'm EJ Hassenfratz, let's get our learn on.…Now I'm sure you've seen it…in many blockbuster movie commercials.…The epic, chisel, 3-D movie type.…In this video I'm going to show you…one way you can create chisel text…using the Cinema 4-D Loft Object.…Now before we begin I want to let you know…that this technique does not work for every font…and is best used on sans serif fonts…that have the same thickness or weight…throughout that letter.…
That being said, this workflow's one of the fastest…way to model chisel text if you're using the right font.…And the font that I'm using is called Gobold,…G-O-B-O-L-D, and it's perfect…to demonstrate this technique.…So let me first demonstrate by using this C,…and I have all of my letters already…broken out into individual splines for this…and the first thing I'm going to do is create…an inner outline, or an outline of this letter.…
To do that I'm going to go to my mesh,…go to Spline, and go to Create Outline…
