Capturing a background with a light field camera

- There's an interesting, dedicated tool for capturing background plates that's really quite cool. It's the Lytro camera, and this is light-field photography. Now, that may sound kind of high-end, and it actually is. Light-field photography allows you to capture information about the scene. Essentially, it's measuring the depth, and as it puts all of the pieces together, it renders a file that's kind of like the ultimate raw file. Now, a typical raw file allows you to adjust things like white balance and a lot of the overall exposure information with tremendous latitude. This one actually allows you to adjust the aperture and the depth of field and even the focus after the fact. Let me show you an example. I've downloaded a few images here to the library, and let's just go in and take a look at the simple image here. You'll notice that, right now, the foreground object is in focus. But if I click here in the background, that rolls into focus. Or if I click in back of the room there…
