- Those video and templates in Photoshop are pretty useful. Unfortunately, the action safe and title safe guidelines are out of date. Hopefully, Adobe will update these to match the newer standards that have been put in place by the different broadcasting groups. But in the mean time, you can tweak these on your own and get them closer to accurate. Let's make a new document here that follows the standard used by the European Broadcast Union. I'll choose file, new and from the film and video category, we'll go with the preset like, HD TV. Now, the guides that it's going to automatically make are not actually correct, so, I'll click create here and you see the different guides. I can press command R to see the rulers and I'm going to switch this temporarily to percent and you see the older standard, which put these at the 5 and 10% mark. It used to be that anything meant to be read, fell inside of action safe, which is inset 10% from the top and bottom and the left and right. And action…
