- [Instructor] Working with text is something we all have to do in After Effects. But when creating kinetic text animations, we often have to break up our massive text layers in order to key frame individual lines, words, or letters. This means lots of work duplicating layers, deleting text and lining text back up. But with the script DecomposeText available at aescripts.com for pay what you wish, this work can be quickly done for you with minimal extra effort needed. Go ahead and download DecomposeText, copy it to your scripts UI folder, then restart After Effects to complete installation. I'll jump over to my project file here. I'm in Chapter Four 03 Decompose Text. I have a text layer here with a few different lines of texts that says split up text layers line by line, word by word, or individual characters.
