If you have a lot of documentary images that are in grayscale, those can be set to easily be batch converted to RGB. This can happen by creating an action in Adobe Photoshop. How do you create the action? In this movie, author Richard Harrington creates an action in Photoshop to batch process grayscale images so they are in the RGB color space.
- If you have a lot of images that are…in gray scale mode,…those can be set to easily be…batch converted to RGB.…To do this though,…you'll need to create an action.…Let me show you how.…Let's close a few of these images.…And what I'll do is open up an image…back from our batch processing folder.…Now,…these may all be RGB…but let's set them…and treat it like it was gray scale.…I'll convert this to gray scale…and now bring up my actions panel.…
What I would suggest is,…make a new folder…called,…color conversion.…This folder or set…can hold multiple actions.…Now, create a new action.…I'll call this, convert…to RGB.…And click, Record.…Now, instead of just going to the image menu…and choosing image mode RGB,…I'm going to suggest that you click…on the action panel here…and you insert…a menu item.…
This is going to allow you to force this to change…and I'll choose RGB color.…And click, OK.…That's going to convert to RGB color mode.…You can also insert…a conditional item.…In this case,…this allows you to say…what to do if the document mode is something else.…
