Auto-animating text with the Scribble effect
- The last treatment that I want to apply to this project is scribbling animation for the subtitled text here. Currently we have a Typewriter Effect, which is okay but as you can see, it's not really using the same graphic language we've established in this composition. I'm going to use the Scribble Effect, of course, but in order to use it, we must fit it with masks or path, and then it can trace around or inside those masks in order to create the effect. So to make it happen, let's select the lower text here, and this time we'll convert it to masks using the command under the Layer menu. What this will do, as we've seen before, is create a white solid that consists of the lettering information, and each one of those paths is a shape that represent the letters that we had. So I'm going to actually move it down the stack just above the original one. You can see that After Effects switched off the eye for the original layer.
