Applying environment maps in After Effects

- In order to apply environment maps to an After Effects project, you need to switch your renderer. You wanna make sure that your composition is in the Ray-Traced 3D Renderer. Those of you who have NVIDIA graphics cards, this is when After Effects can make use of that graphics acceleration using the Ray-Traced renderer. Let's check it out. Now, in order to apply an environment map inside of After Effects, all we have to do is make sure that we have that map imported into the project. And then, within your comp settings, you have to have a couple things set up. So let's select our Environment Map_AE comp, go open our Composition, Comp Settings, and in here we can go to the Advanced tab. Under there you wanna make sure that the Ray-Traced renderer is enabled. Once we do that, we can click OK. Now, since I already have the Ray-Traced renderer set up, when I added my text, I had options for Geometry Options, as long as my text was enabled for 3D. So I went ahead and extruded the text 66…
