Applying the Particular effect to a layer

- [Instructor] In order to add Particular to a project, you must first create a solid to add it to. If we look in our current project, I have a background solid I've already created. I'd like my particles to appear on top of this, so I'll go up to the Layer menu and I'll choose New Solid, but in order to do that, I need to make sure the Composition or the Timeline panel is active. So here I'll make the Timeline panel active, I'll go up under Layer and choose New Solid. Go ahead and make sure the solid is the comp size by clicking Make Comp Size, and you can choose whatever color you like for the solid. I'm going to choose this dark gray color and click OK. Go ahead and click OK when you're ready and your solid will be added into the timeline. Now we can go up under Effect, go down to RG Trapcode, and under there you can see Particular.
