Animation in Photoshop: Part one
- Let's go back and work with a new composition, but this time add a bit of movement to our objects. You can't do full rigging or advanced animation with Photoshop, but you can do some basic animation if you'd like some subtle motion. Think of it more like a turntable. Here we have a full-screen graphic that's been designed, and I'll just start by turning off the safe title overlay. This is a pretty straightforward graphic. And I'll just walk you through its elements. We have a background texture. Then a Hue/Saturation layer, just to strip out the color. The background texture was just made using a built-in Photoshop action to play with textures. Then a bit of color. And what I did here was just worked with a few gradients. I made a blue gradient and then put a little highlight in, added another one, and feel free to explore how Blending modes can be used to create these nice rich gradients.
