From the course: Getting Started with After Effects for the Non-Video Pro
Animating text opacity and color
- [Instructor] Let's go ahead and open the composition named 3.6 animating text opacity and color. Open this folder, open the composition folder, and here it is, 3.6 text opacity and color. In here, let's go ahead and add an animator for opacity first. Expand the text layer to the right of the word text, next to the word animate, click on this menu and choose opacity. In here, we can change the opacity to whatever we want. I'm going to change it to 25. Now we can change the range selector so that it affects only the first word. As we saw in previous movies, we can change which characters are affected by the animator. In addition to adding opacity, let's now add color. So to add another property, there is an add menu here. You can click on that menu right next to the word add, go to property and let's add one for RGB fill color. The default is going to be red. We can change this to blue or whatever other color…
