Discover that a transition can be as simple as wiping the frame. In this video, Andy demonstrates how to set one up.
- [Instructor] A very simple technique … to move from scene to scene … is to wipe the frame. … We use a device to obscure the whole frame … and when it passes, the new scene is revealed. … This is a very effective technique using film, … TV and motion graphics. … We're going to focus on a simple transition … and we'll just use two colors, black and white. … Now, the reason for this is if I press F4, … you can see that we're using the Simple Wipe … as a Luma mat. … A Luma mat allows us to reveal a layer based … on luminesce values, … so black would be 100% transparent … and white would be 100% opaque. … So we've got this Simple Wipe Start composition … and let's just twirl up the properties there … so we can see that we have a Black Solid … and a White Solid. … Now, the Black Solid is a lot wider … than our actual composition … and the reason for that is so that we can move it … across the whole frame. … We're going to add a mask to this. … I'm going to come up to our Masks menu here …
