Adding rays and glows

- A little bit of backlight can go a long way. By putting a backlight behind your subject, you can create a feeling of glow. This can help create separation from the background or be used for a dramatic effect. We're going for classic sci-fi here. I'll place the logo into the composition. Remember, with the place command, it's going to drop it in as a Smart Object and then you can easily adjust. Now in classic situations here, like lots of video, we often have a type on pattern effect where we have backgrounds that are both light and dark and it becomes difficult to fully see things with definition. One of the easiest ways to get around this is to add the glow. Now I'm going to start with the layer style so I will choose to put an Outer Glow on this and what I want to do is sample the color from the backdrop. So I'll click here, gives me my Sampler tool and I'm just going to choose this right turquoise and in fact I'll lighten that up just a little bit more and click OK. That put that…
