Adding the particles in After Effects
In the previous video, we set the composition size in Settings and added a solid to hold the effect. In this video, we're going to actually add the fireworks effect. And to do that, what you do is you open up the file you saved in the previous exercise and select the solid on the stage. And with the solid selected, we can now go to Effect > Simulation > CC Particle Systems 2, select it. And you can see that it opens up in the effect controls. And if you scrub the timeline, you can see we've already got a shower of particles, right here. Let's turn that shower into an air burst. The first thing we need to understand is we need three bursts. And because this thing is three seconds in length, each burst should last approximately one second. That is the purpose of the longevity of the particles. So we're going to change the two to a one, and to change that, double-click the two, enter a one, press the Return or Enter key.
