Join Owen Lowery for an in-depth discussion in this video Adding a mistake in the frame, part of Creating a Handmade Look in After Effects: 3 Compositing and Reusing Elements.
- Before I declare this project ready for render,…I'm going to add one last minor major mistake…and that's a single frame with a hand in the shot.…You see, every once in a while,…when shooting stop motion animation,…someone's adjusting an element…and before they get their hand out of the frame,…the cameraman snaps the picture…and for some reason, nobody seems to notice…until it's too late, that is.…But this time, I'm adding a hand in the frame on purpose.…This is the perfect sort of mistake…to fool people into thinking…it was definitely not made on a computer…because why would anyone purposely put…an image of a hand in a frame?…I'm going to go ahead and open up…Scene 14 "OH NO ROBOTS" End Logo…because this is where I want to add it.…
I'll close my Camera Wiggle…and I'll scroll just to the point that the foil robot…gets its last little bit of head put on him.…I want to fake it like this was the shot…where the person was putting that head on…and they just didn't get their hand out in time.…I'll open up my Assets folder.…
