- [Steve] Hi, I'm Steve Kaplan, and welcome to this Lynda tutorial on how to use Affinity Photo to enhance a portrait. We'll start with this portrait image, we'll then go on to split this image into low and high frequencies so that we can get rid of a lot of the blemishes, we'll then look at how we can paint out more of the blemishes.
We'll take out the bags under the eyes more, we'll strengthen the appearance of the eyes, we'll see how we can make the lips stronger, more made up, we'll add some eye shadow, we'll add some blush to the cheeks, we'll strengthen those eyebrows, we'll strengthen the appearance of the hair, and then we'll add a curved adjustment to change the tone of the entire image.
We'll take out some of the noise in the background, and finally, we'll add a lighting adjustment to focus our attention right into this face. So over the course of this lesson, we'll see how we'll start with our background image and then end up with a much more polished portrait.
