- [Instructor] Target Audiences Based on Location. Location is another factor in programmatic advertising that didn't exist until only a few short years ago. Targeting ads based on someone's location can be pinpointed to the city, zip or postal code, or even smaller. This happened to me the other day, I was in Boston and searched for information from a book that I had read. It was a book about data and I needed to reference that information for a presentation. I got what I needed and went to my meeting. Later that day, I received an ad showing me that the author of the book that I looked up earlier was going to be hosting a workshop in New York City later that week. Obviously, the campaign was modeled on anyone familiar with the author or the concepts in the book. Then it targeted people who were within a certain geographical region surrounding his upcoming workshop. What a relevant, timely, and specific ad. Location…
