In less than 200 milliseconds, about the time it takes for you to blink, this amazingly complex system produces a personalized ad for the viewer, enables a publisher to gain the maximum revenue possible, while the advertiser reaches their intended audience. Let's walk through how this happens. First, our audience. Let's call him Dave. Dave goes to a news site to see the latest news. When he opens the page, there are a number of ad spaces. The publisher sends the request to the ad server to fill the ad space along with any relevant data such as first party data or accompanying data from the DMP.
