- [Narrator] About five years ago, I was asked to do a talk around prototyping motion to a Toronto user group. The key point I wanted to make was this. You can't describe motion, you have to show it. And this is just as true for UX design, as it is for motion, To show it and test it, you need to use some form of prototyping software. And this new genre of software started appearing around 2008. Though a strong case can be made that Adobe Fireworks, shown here, which was introduced in 1998 was among the first rudimentary prototyping applications to hit the market. It wasn't long after the broad acceptance of UX prototyping software around the 2008, 2010 timeframe that the design company IDEO nailed why this software genre is so important.
