- [Brian] Welcome to Adobe Xd prototyping tips and tricks. My name is Brian Wood and I'll be leading you through the course. In this course we've got a lot of ground to cover in such a short amount of time, but I wanted to take you through how to prototype in Adobe Xd, at least to start with and then go through and talk about some just interesting features, things that we can do, some tips, ways to work a little bit smarter and faster. So let's take a look at what we're going to cover today. We're going to look at prototyping 101 and just get an idea for how prototyping works inside of Adobe Xd.
Then we're going to start to create some interesting content. We're going to create a fixed position content for a menu to begin with and we're going to use overlays to make a sliding menu. Something like a hamburger button that shows a menu. We're going to talk about preserving scroll position to make a slideshow. Now this slideshow's not a real slideshow but it's going to have the appearance of slideshow. We'll also cover how to set up auto-animating, which is a great way to animate between your screens or pages when you're setting up a prototype.
We'll create a draggable prototype interaction which is really awesome. It's a way for you to make maybe a carousel where somebody can drag and go from one image to the next. We can set up timed transitions so from one art board to the next you can set up a timer. And we'll discuss what's called voice prototyping. So there are a lot things that we can look at and we'll do and as we go through each one of these videos I'm just going to kind of throw in a few tips and tricks along the way to help you work faster, smarter and make it easier for you to get up and running with prototyping in Xd.
So let's jump into the course.
