Learn how to tell your story with Adobe Spark. Create elegant graphics, videos, and webpages with this free graphic design toolset.
- Hi my name's Rich Harrington. And in this course, we're gonna take a look at telling a photographic story using Adobe Spark. Spark is a great tool that allows you to take your content and easily turn it into shareable ideas. Whether you're looking to actually create a webpage, a short form video, or a graphic that can be embedded on social media, or other websites, it is a great suite of tools. You see, Adobe Spark is really one website with three modules, or three different apps available for your mobile device.
And it is a powerful set of tools that make it easy for both designers and non-designers to create great looking content. Now, in this course, we have a lot of different things we're going to cover. We'll start of by giving you an overall introduction to Adobe Spark. How do you access it? And how do you decide which of the different tools to use? Then, we'll talk about preparing assets and files. We'll show you how to access built-in and free content that's available inside of Spark, as well as how to prepare your own images for upload.
I'm mostly focusing on photographs in this course, but I will address some things like vector files and other elements that you might want to put up to the cloud. Once that's done, we'll take a look at a premium feature that many of you will have access to, and that it the ability to create a brand. You can load up a set of colors, and a logo and other additional details to create your own themed content that matches the visual identity for your company or organization. We'll then start by building out some graphics using Spark Post.
This is a great set of tools that makes it easy to design single graphics. There is a whole suite of built-in templates that intelligently adapt using artificial intelligence to really give you the best-looking design. You can pick options such as color and font, and then adjust the layout based upon the amount of content you want to show, and new designs will be presented to you to choose from, or to fully customize. We'll then look at visual storytelling using Spark Page. This allows you to take a lot of content and put it into a single webpage.
That page can have photos and video, as well as show the content in an interesting way. It's very responsive design, and allows for a lot of cool animation and easy to view templates that reveal the information as the person goes through. Now, this can be great for web publishing but can also be used as an alternative as a presentation type. And finally, we'll explore the third tool which is Spark Video. This let's you take icons, text, photos and video clips, and assemble them into short visual stories or marketing pieces that you can use.
When you're done you can publish traditional 16:9 or square video for easy sharing online or for dropping into presentations or transferring to your mobile device. And speaking of transferring, we'll actually talk about managing content. How do you keep your templates in sync across both your computer and your mobile device on the go? As well as how can you duplicate, rename, or backup your files? We've got a lot of ground to cover, so I invite you to dig in, and you can of course, once you get through the introductory sections of this course, jump right to the tool that works best for you.
So if you're most interested in creating graphics, building videos or using the page authoring tools, you'll be able to skip to that section once we get through the first few parts of this course. Feel free to explore all the different sections, as there is some overlap in the tools, and you'll find that even though you might not be interested in creating a video, it's very easy to use. Or even though you might look at Spark Post as only being for social media graphics, you can actually create print pieces as well. So, dig into everything, but take a look at the section that interests you most.
