The basic chisel brush
- [Narrator] The basic chisel and the basic terminal brushes are so similar in many regards that they're going to be combined into this one movie. So the tip shape here is much more narrow. So it's around about 20% of a circle in terms of width, and then it's rolled around to about 45 degrees to give you this oblique. Now again, as with earlier examples, in straight along, as you can almost see there with that small stroke, there's not going to be much variation. Pressure will of course add it's own dynamic. So if I use my finger over on the top left quadrant here and go pretty much straight along, you're not going to see much variation. Up and down you're going to see slight variations, but once you get to diagonals like so, you're going to see more variation there, and that's perhaps why this brush is very popular with calligraphers and lettering artists, because you can get that predictable variation.
