- This composition combines vector masks and clipping masks. Vector paths have been converted into vector masks for each of the image layers, and I can disable those by shift-clicking on them. And then a shape layer has been defined as a clipping mask to give shape and form to the whole composition. Let's switch now to the beginning version. You can see now I have a whole guide layout established, and I'm using that to give me guidance on where I want my vector masks to be. So, I need to add a vector mask to this top layer, the desert image. I'm going to switch to my path behavior for my Shape tools, and with my rectangle Shape tool I will draw myself a path into those two grid fields and then I will hold down cmd, and click on Add Mask. Now, beneath all of these layers, I have this vector shape of California. And I want to clip all of the image layers to it. So, I'm going to select all of those, and then from the Layers panel, I'll choose Create Clipping Mask. Hide the guides by…
