- [Instructor] In Illustrator Draw there is a total absence of any form of selection tool. The only things you can select of course are by layers on the right-hand side. And so, as there's an absence of a tool to select things, you have to come up with other strategies, techniques and tactics to get around that shortcoming. The technique I'm going to show you here will vary slightly depending on what it is you're doing but I'm sure that if you grasp the concept of it, then you can bend it to your will. Now, I'm going to use artwork that I've already got here to do this, so what I'm going to do is I'm going to select the wing that I drew earlier and I will duplicate that layer and what I'd then do is I would choose a color that I'm not using, so here I will choose this sort of teal color like so and long press on that to fill that in and then I would proceed to either paint in the other bits or as I'm doing here just step through, just pressing on them to fill in those gaps.
